i´m alive!

Hey guys,
I made it Madrid in one piece! the flight wasn´t too bad, i did get lost in the airport, but super glad to see my bag make it also and to see my director, Rodrigo waiting for me! only met half the people in my program so far and they´re all from the midwest. i think it´s a bit overwhelming for them, but it really reminds me of home. i can´t wait to get meet my host family in salamanca.. it´s a really small village where everything is walking distance.

our director wouldn´t let us nap when we got here because he said it would mess up our sleeping schedules, so i´ve been awake for a SUPER long time now. staying at a hotel for the first week, heading to toledo in 2 days and then off to salamanca. internet access is hard to find here and it´s expensive to use. tried buying a calling card today with no success. i also had to buy some shampoo and conditioner.. which costs a lot more than what it does at home. everything is sooo expensive here! =(

i´m 9 hours ahead of pacific time, so it´s around 10pm for me. it´s recommended that we don´t walk outside, especially alone, after 10pm so i gotta walk back to my hotel soon. no worries, it´s only half a block away. until next time.... miss you all!
